What is Cepheid’s GeneXpert® System?

The GeneXpert system is a market leader* in sample-to-answer PCR diagnostic testing with the largest global installed base and operating in over 180 countries. It is the first easy-to-use, random-access system developed to enable tests to run “on-demand” instead of in large batches. The instrument is a real-time PCR-based molecular diagnostic testing platform integrating a computer, barcode scanner, and preloaded software that controls the testing process. Self-contained, single-use test cartridges perform automated nucleic acid extraction, PCR amplification, and detection of target sequences when loaded onto the instrument. The system is uniquely scalable to meet the demands of any clinical environment. *Based on internal install base data.
