The Need

  • Measurement of blood plasma HCV RNA using PCR is established as the standard of care in assessing HCV treatment and prognosis.
  • Highly-sensitive tests are required to ensure sustained virologic response (SVR), defined as undetectable HCV RNA following treatment.
  • HCV testing that provides accurate results are simple to use and test volume flexibility can enhance HCV elimination programs.

The Solution

  • The Xpert HCV Viral Load test is designed for the rapid quantitation of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) RNA in human serum or plasma (EDTA) from HCV-infected individuals.
  • The Xpert HCV Viral Load test is intended to aid in the management of HCV infected patients undergoing antiviral therapy and can be utilized to predict sustained virological responses to HCV therapy as well as confirmation of HCV infection in anti-HCV positive individuals.

The Impact

  • Increase Efficiency: Simplified workflow and on-demand testing reduces hands-on time1
  • Improve Patient Care: Fast results enable earlier adjustment to appropriate therapy2,3
  • Enable testing low complexity laboratories. Flexible: Adaptable to meeting throughput requirements4
